About HECAS
Hekimbaşı Center for Advanced Studies (HECAS) is a new, non-profit academic initiative undertaken by Nabi Avcı and Levent Yılmaz with substantial decades-long discussions and contributions by foremost scholars like François Hartog, Anthony Grafton, Quentin Skinner, Salvatore Settis and many others. HECAS is dedicated to fostering intellectual exchange and collaboration between distinguished figures and exceptional students from around the world and also encourage curiosity-driven basic research in all fundamental human sciences.
Driven by a commitment to academic excellence, HECAS organizes weeklong “immersive seminars”, high-level symposiums, interdisciplinary workshops and research initiatives in order to understand “why we are doing what we are doing”
HECAS was born from the belief that the scope of learning should also be profoundly challenged in a changing world.
